LGV/HGV Category C(Class II driver training)
For vehicles over 3,500kg with a trailer up to 750kg also known as a Class II or a rigid vehicle
Contact Central Transport TrainingThe course includes practical driving instruction and practice. The majority of the driver training is practical and is delivered in-cab on the public highways in and around Wolverhampton.
Instruction is structured to give the candidate the widest range of experience and exposure to:
• Varying traffic conditions
• Road types
• Urban/rural environments
• Vehicle handling and manoeuvring
• Gear selection etc.
Duration: 5 days
To become an LGV driver you must possess a high degree of skill in the handling of your vehicle and also be prepared to make allowances for the behaviour of others.
The right attitude and approach to your driving, together with a sound knowledge of professional driving techniques and the ability to apply those techniques, is essential.
Category C Training

- Consists of five days with the fifth day being your practical test day
- Training usually starts on a Tuesday and continue through Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Your Module 3 a test will be conducted during the week you are training. Your Module 3b test is usually on the following Monday
- Training is 2 hours 30 minutes per day
- One trainee to one instructor
- Vehicles are automatic DAFs
Category C Testing -
- Module 3a will last up to 30 minutes and consist of -

Vehicle Safety Questions
1 hour of practical road driving
You must have passed your Module 3a in order to be able to take your Module 3b. You must keep your Module 3a pass and present it at your Module 3b test.
