All you need to know about starting your Driver Training with CTT

If you are currently a car driver and you want to start a career in HGV driving there are certain things you need to do before you start training in a vehicle.
- Obtain a D2 and D4 form from the DVLA
- Arrange a medical with a Doctor - you can get our Doctors details by request
- The Doctor will complete the relevant parts of the D4 form
- Fill in the D2 form with your requirements and details
- Send the D4 and the D2 form along with your licence to the DVLA
- You will need to then wait until your licence is returned with the provisional entitlement
- Once your licence is returned, you can book your theory tests - Multiple Choice and Hazard Perception
- To book your theory tests you will need to go onto Gov.uk
- Then navigate to Book a Theory Test
- Enter your details
- You can then book a preferred date and time at your choice of Pearson Centre
- You will need to attend and pass both Theory Tests, if you fail one element you will need to rebook in to take the test again
- At this stage, you will be ready to book your driver training
If you currently hold a lower licence in the category you wish to train in you will not need to redo a medical or the Theory Tests.
E.g if you currently hold a C1 and you wish to train for C+E
* You will still need to hold the provisional licence for the one you want to train for
If you currently hold a licence in a different category, you will need to start from the beginning
E.g if you currently hold a D1 and you wish to train for a Category C
